For example, just a few weeks ago, the Australian Communications and Media Authority published a study showing the decline in online gambling during the 2020 pandemic blackouts. However, the Australian Gambling Research Center has just released a survey that showed impressive numbers. Australians playing online games for the first time during the same period, and even more who are on the verge of or harmed by gambling and Online Casino.

Sometimes these studies are erroneous and based on reports.

Online Survey about Online Casinos in Australia

The Australian Gambling Research Center study “Gambling in Australia during COVID-19” consisted of two forms of advocacy. The online survey collected the results of 2019 people who, to one degree or another, had already gambled or joined the survey through social media ads or Online Casinos news alerts. The subjects participated in telephone and video interviews with experts in the field of gambling research, regulation, policy, and treatment.

The survey participants were at least 18 years old, lived in Australia, and admitted to having gambled in the past 12 months. They answered questions from June 10 to July 31, 2020. Subsequent interviews with the aforementioned experts took place in July and August.

The AGRC’s goal was to understand how Australians have adapted to the availability of Online Casinos in 2020 in the face of restrictions and limited opportunities on land. In addition, the researchers wanted to see changes – if any – in gambling participation, alcohol consumption, health, and overall well-being.

“The findings of the study will help develop and implement policies and practices to prevent and reduce gambling-related harm in Australia.”

The study asked participants about their pre- and post-Covid-19 quarantine habits, but only focused on 2020. The vast majority have not changed much in their habits of the most popular forms of gambling, such as horse and greyhound racing, sports betting and bingo.

Obviously, free casino slot games decreased significantly during the lockdowns, as most of the establishments remained closed. Keno and Instant Scratches have produced the same results as bingo, poker and casino.
